Duke Mixed Breed Young - Adoption, Rescue for sale in Athens, Georgia

Why Choose Me?

Duke is all legs, play, and energystill very much like a big puppy. He was so excited to have play time that he jumped up a bit, but once I threw a toy for him, his energy was spent in running for his toy and playing with it. Duke has an understanding of fetch and was good about bringing stuffed toys back until I threw one that he REALLY liked and wanted to keep. A stuffed duck was his favorite, and he wouldnt part with it or even trade it for a treat. He spent the last minutes of our time together running around with a mouth full of duck.

When it was time to leave and I leashed Duke, he decided he didnt want to go. He fell to the ground, rolled on his back, and started squirming. At first, I thought he just needed to scratch his back, but no, that wasnt it. Eventually, he rolled over but stayed flat on the ground looking up at me like he knew exactly what he was doing. He wasnt budging, not for a treat or even the stuffed duck. I have to admit, he did have the sweetest face as he looked up. Fortunately, my husband carried Duke back for me, but if you take him out, you might want to use an interaction pen closer to his kennelat least until he learns the routine. Still, I couldnt get upset with Duke. Hes a sweet, fun dog who wants to play and still has a lot of puppy in him.
